PP, I the U.S. we have several ethnic holidays. Columbus Day for the Italian-Americans, Kwanzaa and MLK days for the Blacks, there's even some states that celebrate Confederate Independence Day. These are all good excuses to get wasted. Sant Patrick's Day was originally a Saint's Festival, but Saint Paddy was patron saint of Ireland , so now it's a celebration of the Irish in other countries. It's really big in the U. S. and Canada, IDK about Australia and N.Z.

St. Patty's day is making me wonder whether I have been binge drinking too much lately.

Vashti, I'm not an alcoholic (I generally go weeks without drinking a sip of alcohol, without any inclination to, if my social life doesn't require me to go to bars / etc). However, when is a 25 year old doing noticeable damage to his liver? The few nights I do go out where drinking is mandatory (birthdays / St. Patty's day) I don't drink, I DRINK. I'm beginning to get concerned, since my tolerance is worse than it was in college.
