second, i'm totally in agreement with lahnnabell. i don't know about all you people yelling at the OP, but i think you'd have to be a really stupid ass woman to refuse to take it off when it's tangled in your hair...really? i mean, i wouldn't even understand it if it was some dead person's jewelry caught in her hair...this girl is kookoo. she's obviously attached to this necklace in a very weird way and i can totally see where the OP is coming from.

however, i agree that you are acting a little too insecure and shouldn't let it bother you so much. you are the one with her now. concentrate on that. don't let this guy interfere with your relationship. plus, you've only been with her for 2 months...i'm sure there are plenty more things left to be uncovered. i'm sure there are things from your past that she doesn't even know about you. it's still early. do what lahnnabell said and talk to her in the most considerate and sensitive way you can under the circumstances...hopefully you'll be able to get some answers that way. if not, you can just hijack that thing off of her neck when she's sleeping and hide it...tell her you melted it and sold it. if my calculations are correct, she will probably start balling and explain everything to you about the necklace in detail so that you feel extremely guilty. then you can pop it out from your pocket and say "ok, that's all i wanted to know...thanks!"

Thanks all for the replies - I'm going to let it be for awhile and see if she brings it up on her own eventually. I know it's silly of me to be feeling this way, but I can't really help it and I guess I just needed a place to vent a little. I'm glad some of you slammed me too and no hard feelings from me - it's actually reassuring that some people think I really don't have anything to worry about and that I AM being paranoid
