Yeah, I go to the liquor store, it's closed. I whip out my Droid, bring up navigation, say "Nearest liquor store" Browse the list. Call to see which is open. Punch in the coordinates and let the phone guide me.
I can't really argue the generation gap.

I will still argue that convenience should have limits. I think it just leads towards poor coping skills when you can't have something. Personal opinion, but I've seen peoples evening ruined over something trivial, because they simply arn't used to not getting what they want.

Ah well, in my experience, the follow though is atrocious, so it's a detractor in my books.
I've been mighty disappointed/frustrated on many occasions because it's easy to text something exciting, but it seems to be a bit more difficult to make it happen.
Granted, my life is far, far, far from being spontaneous, or intimate.

It's about one of the least classy ways of ending a relationship. I'm very sure sure it's super easy to do, but I feel that people deserve more focused and direct attention, negative or otherwise.

Generally, I think that texting has ALOT of good uses, there are many situations where texting is simply an effective method of communication.
I just think some people don't understand that a phone call, or face to face is far superior in many other situations.

And no, I'm no technophobe or anything. I love my 'puter, WII's hacked to play movies from the network, and I recognize that tech has simplified so many things it isn't even funny.
But I can also be away from my computer for weeks. I don't wonder if I've got my all important phone when I leave the house (because 95% of the time, I don't).

I wonder how many people can live without their phone?
My old boss years ago would get in a panic when email was down for short periods here and there. 'I'm expecting emails, I've got to contact people'
Use the 'fing phone if it's that bloody important.

I don't mind convenience, but I absolutely abhor reliance.

I "dumped" someone via text. Basically he asked if we're still on for a date I sold him out and said I'm no longer inerested all via text. I'd break up with an idiot via an idiot move (text) if he's a good guy where there is some history I'd most definately do it face to face.
