I really think you need to meet her in person and talk to her more. Although writing online is great, it is NO substitute to talking to someone one-on-one and face-to-face.

It's hardly pushy after 8 months.
You do realise, meeting this girl in person won't change anything? She'll still be full of insecurities and issues.
Have you read up on the shining knight syndrome? It sounds like what you're doing. It won't work.
