It made me lose faith in the power of love. I've spent most of my life in a romantic frame of mind. So, Closer was a rude awakening for me. The idea of love is not entirely pure anymore. Ive come to understand that love is easily tarnished and corrupted by outside influences and people. Quite an eye-opener, although I wish I could have stayed ignorant at times...

I believe that was one of the points of the movie. They wanted to show everyone that love is never pure. There is always something there that could taint it at any time. It's these hard times that make us want to hold onto love even more though. Without love, what is the point of life? It's still worth it. Even if you get your heart broken a few times along the way.
