i think that the best trips are taken with your friends. no rules and regulations.

But if your friends can't/won't go, you shouldn't let that hold you back. Because in most cases people don't move...they resist change...they don't like to bother the status quo.

But you're right..it's always best with company.

exactly..it's what I'm saying. But it's a matter of saving a little bit. Limit yourself in other ways for a little bit..but nah..people will carry on their ways and never change. It's also lack of good financial planning, because those who have good financial habits will do stuff like work some no skill job..say a caterer, and save up a few months, then use the money and take off to some other country for a while. It sounds to awsome..but I don't think I'm that adventurous....yet...

like i say, live it while you can, because you never know what will happen tomorrow, or when you'll get pulled over.

man, i want to go everywhere, sail the seven seas.

what makes me sad is when i hear people say that they want to travel when they retire.

why wait till you retire to travel? by then, you'd be too old to do all the fun things.

this guy from the other lab just ask if i would like to go to toronto or something. How do you politely turn it down?

My first question is..why would you turn it down??? I can't resist invitations anymore...I always go whenever I can...unless there's some really good reason why not to go, then I say go..and if there is a very good reason, then that could be your polite reply as to why you can't go: the truth.

Unless your good reason is: "I don't really like you." That's not very polite, I guess.

well, a good reason to turn someone down is if you don't know them well enough.

but i haven't turn it down. told him i'd go if he lets me do the driving.

but he just creeps me out a bit. wouldn't you be if someone you barely knew (just pass by the hallway all time) wants travel with you, and even offers to pay for your plane ticket, say to mexico? or malaysia?

    i love driving.

It's crossed my mind....but I think I'll take it in steps. I can do like the northwest in one trip, the south in another, the north east in another the midwest in another. Southwest is my home so I don't need another trip accross there.

But there are too many other traver plans ahead of that one.

are you from japan, in japan now? or are you just trying to make a rhyme?
---> i'm a little slow with these things.

and why new york and not new orleans? you can see breasts in new orleans, although they're not always great ones.

nomas- section by section is a good idea and how many states have you covered already?

I haven't made any of these trips yet, Arty, but states I've been on are: California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, New York..and I think that's it. But I don't think of it as states I need to cover..it's cities and landmarks I want to visit. New Orleans is definitely one..then a bunch along the east/north east..

    So much to see...
