Don't smack me too hard. I am very fragile.

I hate classes that are just lecture classes. I read it in Old English to...its really not hard to understand or follow....I think the hardest thing about reading it was like everybody has the same name with 1-2 letters mixed around.

Are you sure it wasn't Middle English? Old English is not comprehensible to a native speaker of modern English. In fact, it's kind of like German. It's written in runic, normally, but luckily, my text uses the Latin script. Example:
    Ácnæwest þu Ænglisc?

Yeah, it ****in' sucks. Thank God this is only one of 3 that will be read in OE.

Nope it was Old English...one of my BAs is classic cultures....personally I think its harder to speak than read....but I think that with most languages....reading is easy.

I also took a really fun Irish mythology class...well I thought it was fun but I'm a nerd. We didn't have to learn Old Irish but it was cool to hear since my prof read some stuff to us....but we got everything translated.

i told a patient that was headed off to hospice via ambulance that her daughter would meet her on the other side. (I meant "of the valley", but didn't say that.) Thank god the poor woman was lethargic. I doubt she understood me.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Yeah, and Don Corleone is a God-figure.

Are you guys reading Beowulf, or smoking it? I mean, we had some mind-twisting drugs going around campus in my day, but whatever you fellows are on beats all of that.

I don't get the Christ figure comparison, either. Care to elaborate?

In other news, I'm diving pretty heavily into the dating game. Seeing one girl tomorrow, another the day after and still another next weekend.

Today I bought myself a fresh set of duds. I'm going for a more mature look, considering the girls I'm dating are actually within a couple years of my age for the first time since I graduated college. Ahem. So I got a pair of leather loafers, some black slacks and a kick-ass gray striped shirt. I look sophistimacated. I figure if I forgo the tie and leave the top buttons of my shirt undone just enough to display a few wisps of dark chest hair and if I allow a few black bristles to blue my jaw I'll offset the fancy-pants outfit enough to get my personality across without looking like an overgrown teenager.

I also picked up a pair of Lucky Brand jeans because I can't get over the goddamn zipper. Nothing I love more than watching that grin spread across a cutie's lips as she unzips my fly and reads, "Aren't you lucky?" I'm willing to pay a premium to a company that injects a little humanity into its products.

Doppel have you read it before? I don't want to ruin anything if you haven't read it cause part of my argument for him being a Christ figure will give away the ending.

@Chump...I love the Godfather...it is a perfect movie....I assume your talking about Micheal Corleone and not his father...and while I think you were bein sarcastic you could compare him to Christ as well.

i think we might as well change the name of the forum to Nick'sForum, since he is the only with control over it. Our so-called moderators might as well turn in their badges.
