Yeah... I can relate, I went on a aussie navy patrol boat for a month, and they eat like kings, we put the weights on the Marines to put more BBQs on , and they did...thank god. We actually stayed in the Huts where the movie "Heartbreak Ridge" was filmed.... great trip... keep an eye on the pics thread, you might recognise some of the gear... had a blast over there...literally

    Mango Smoothie...
(recipe I use from Cdn living mag online)

This starter smoothie has 34 per cent of the recommended daily intake of calcium for growing healthy bones. Better yet, it has nothing weird that will turn off picky kids.
    Ingredients
    2 mangoes
    1 banana
    1 cup (250 mL) milk
1 cup (250 mL) vanilla yogurt
1 cup (250 mL) ice cubes
    Preparation

Peel mangoes and cut into cubes; place in blender. Peel banana and break into chunks; add to blender. Add milk, yogurt and ice;until smooth.

    Additional information :

    Variations
Morning Kiwi Smoothie: Substitute 2 kiwifruit, peeled and chopped, for the mangoes. Add 1 tsp (5 mL) liquid honey, if desired.

Morning Peach Smoothie: Substitute 1 cup (250 mL) frozen sliced peeled peaches for the mangoes. Add 1 tsp (5 mL) liquid honey, if desired.

Morning Honeydew Smoothie: Substitute 1 cup (250 mL) cubed peeled melon for the mangoes. Add 1 tsp (5 mL) liquid honey, if desired.

But there's still a dreaded banana there in the original ingredients... you think I could just use 3 mangos instead? I mean obviously I could but banana's like the thickening agent that gives it the right consistency, isn't it?

Yeah the more mangos the better, maybe it just becomes a fruit juice.... throw a custard apple in instead

LMAO you really thing custard apples exist in the UK? If they do I've never seen one!!

HAHAHA I'm just watching an episode of MasterChef Australia - that intro music is one of the funniest things I've ever heard ROFL - the one that starts at the 2 minute mark on this:

Hahaha Yorkshire pudding batter might work... if we were trying to turn a smoothie into the grossest drink ever... I will try the substitute banana for an additional mango thing and see how that works out though, thanks!

Seriously do they still make Neighbours? I remember that from when I was maybe 8 years old - Kylie and Jason!

I found you 1 without bananas, Millie. I put nanas in all my smoothies, ever since having this one horrid cold and decided to eat bananas instead or oranges/or. juice and it left a day later and I was like, hold on here...bananas my new cold bestie, lol.

    Mango Ginger Smoothie

1 ripe mango, peeled, seeded and chopped

    1 cup crushed ice

1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt or 1/2 cup non-fat vanilla yogurt

    2 teaspoons Splenda sugar substitute
(optional, but if you are using plain yogurt you are more apt to use)

    1/2 cup cold water

3/4 teaspoon minced crystallized ginger or 3/4 teaspoon peeled fresh ginger

Combine all and puree til smooth.
