I think the most important thing is to relax. If you keep thinking "Am I doing it right?", you won't get anywhere. Just relax and get lost in the moment, then it will all come naturally. At least, that's how it worked for me.

Hmm, I guess girls are lucky, sometimes. I'm a bit old fashioned, I still believe in the 'guys should make the first move' thing (but to be perfectly honest, I'm just too much of a coward to make the first move, so I let him do it).
