Really? I just pointed it out. Writing is NOT just recording your thoughts. Typing is.

Oh my god, Doppel, you're such a fuçking idiot I can hardly read your posts without finding motivation to exterminate the human race.

write: to compose a text or work for written and printed reproduction or publication; put into literary form and set down in writing

Do you understand what that means, you benighted toolshed? My god, I hope you and that female you found off the Internet don't reproduce unless you give some intern at a medical school a chance to practice an abortion, because that stupid motherfuçker is going to inherit your pathetic excuse for an intellect.

Nobody finds your bunk to be funny, and your logic is about as flawed as anyone trying to argue intelligent design. For fuçk's sake, you're living proof that there is no god.

You should enlist in the army and get sent to Afghanistan, so America will care just a little less about the dead soldiers fighting a stupid war.

such an interesting point you make lovesjoy. in a sense typing could halt the evolution of written language, because it's changed so much over time. in typed words, we're stuck with what we have.

Just one. Usually if you ignore him, he gets bored and goes away.

Typing is pressing keys. Writing is making marks.

A monkey can press a key. An elephant can make a mark. Can either convert ideas into symbols?

    Read definition 3.

Key word: compose. If you disagree with the dictionary definition of "write", then fine, just say so. In response to your post, I'll just paste what I said before.

Writing is not only the act of converting ideas into symbols on paper/computer/sand/cave walls, but also the act of creating or composing said ideas.

There is a faint line between compose and write. That is another full-length discussion.

    Is it?

Because that's what I was discussing.

Both of us are right, it just depends on the context.

CrunchBang is a version of Ubuntu, actually. It's stripped down to the bare essentials. A netbook can't quite handle Ubuntu without chugging along. I'm too impatient for that.
