Seriously, I don't think the 8 year difference is a big deal. that being said, the difference between 20 and 22 is more than just 2 years, it's more like 5-6. Once you're 21 and doing the bar scene, it's a whole new world.

When you're < 21, your peers are your age, +/- a couple years. Out in the real world, you're with people 10, 15, 20+ years.

So, in sum, the difference from say 25-33, no biggie. 20-28, maybe. Exercise good judgement.

Yeah, FORGET HIM...he's leaving soon anyways, why even go through all the drama? Do you really want a long distance relationship with a guy almost a decade older than you?

HOnestly.....if you feel a connection with him....go for it. I mean....I have a friend who was 21. She had her own house......had her shit together.....and most of the guys her age didn't. She went on countless dates with guys who just wanted to mooch off of her......and wanted to just have a good time and not be in a relationship.
Then my other friend introduced her to one of her friends.....and he was 31. My friend and him hit if off immediately. Yes there is like exactly a 10 yr age gap....but 6 months later they are still extremely happy. Hes got a good job....and is all about settling down eventually. And she feels the same way.

SO honestly if it works...go for it. But.....I saw something mentioned about him moving away... Long distance things arent the best to deal with ....especially early on in a relationship. So take things slow with this guy and see what happens...
Appreciate the good times and learn from the bad times....

I've dated guys older and younger, but I've found I'm most comfortable with guys within 3 years of my own age. I think it's because we share cultural references. Ferris Beuller's Day Off means something different to me than it does to someone who's in high school now.

I think 9 years older is too much.

Then again, George Clooney is significantly older than me, and I'd go for him in a hot second...

There's enough George to go around. I don't mind sharing if you don't.

OK, but me first. If he's still alive when I'm done, you can have him.

Actually, he doesn't even live here. He's been in the country for a week visiting his sister and will be here for a total of 5 weeks. Even worse, I suppose... but then again, I will be abroad next year - so I'll be closer to him than to the guy I like who lives 2 blocks away from me.
