Yes
No
My God accepts me for who I am, a stubborn, hopeless sinner, who's heart is ultimately in the right place.
He understands me, and I understand him.
If I must go to hell, then so be it, I won't blame him, and he acknowledges the fact that I must do what I must with no hostility.
It's a kind of respect.
wow, that IS cool.
Yeah, except for the fact that Frasbee is talking about an imaginary friend. Frasbee, do you need a hug?
Religion?! Hypocritical?! You're full of shit....Originally Posted by Frasbee
I don't think so. I think that the majority of people who believe in "God" deeply believe in him and go "by the book". Perhaps there are plenty of people out there who have different perspectives on God and what he's going to accept and all of that, but I don't really agree with what you're saying Frasbee. But that's your opinion and we don't all have to agree, so yeah.
I however, do not believe in God - not the biblical "God" anyway. I can't even begin to understand how anyone can for a single second, but hey - freedom of choice, right.
To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering, one must not love; but then one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer, to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love; to be happy then is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy; therefore to be unhappy one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down.
Exactly.
For example, there are those who take everything in the book literally, and those who take it subjectively. What determines how people percieve the "word"? Personal preference is what. They alone decide how they will worship, what's "right" and "wrong".
Look at how much God has changed over the centuries. God went from being this tyrannical entity who sadistically dangled the souls of his followers over the eternal flames of hell, to a forgiving compassionate fatherly type figure.
God has changed, because people change him to how they want to accept him.
Does God love or hate fags?
Who knows, what would you prefer?
Personally, I think God isn't anywhere near as concerned with our little, tiny personalities as we'd like to think. God is everything, and everything is BIG. I believe that God is so much more than a human mind could possibly begin to understand, and the idea that God bears any resemblance to Dr. Laura or Jerry Falwell is ludicrous.
Also, I don't believe in hell. Or original sin.
People are such egoists to believe that god has nothing better to do than think about us individually. At best, god may (or may not) be concerned with us collectively.
I also do not believe in Hell, original sin, or even Heaven - at least, not in the traditional ways...
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
