Anyway, yes, CAM, I agree that traditional roles are not embraced like they used to be. I, for one, use power tools regularly and drive like a bat out of hell.

Actually, I do cook, clean, sew repairs, iron, paint the house/fence, do yardwork, etc. etc. That's the life of a single, very successful, male homeowner.

Oh, the other comment from someone else about masculinity involving big muscles. Not exactly. I've known Silver Star recipients who looked puny, but they were strong willed, confident, hard working men who were tough when they needed to be tough.

I don't have huge muscles, but I do work out at the gym daily and do weight training. I've also got a 140 IQ...go figure, right?

Also, there's a difference between femininity/masculinity and a discussion of "traditional roles." I think maybe that's where things went awry...somehow "tradition" (heaven forbid...) got mixed up in a discussion of how to be feminine or masculine in behavior/stature. Now, things are all FUBAR-ed. It seems to me that in the West, many women go out of there way to hide from themselves by acting out the stereotypical male pig role; meanwhile men hide from themselves by acting like metrosexuals.

And maybe that's also why there's the interest in MILFs. Generally, an earlier generation of women who act feminine and sexy. Most younger women don't "carry it" the same way these days.

When I go to the gym, the locker room is full of young guys who are talking about the women out at the pool...they don't talk about the teenage women or 20 somethings...they only talk about the MILFs. Interesting, huh?

Not really when you think about it. Older females have more confidence and are more secured in their bodies than the 20 somethings are for the most part. And because of this they are more likely to feel sexy and project this as well and for the most part be able to do all this in a "lady like " way.
