Not my college, we're told on the first day of classes, we have to maintain a gpa of 2.5 to be in perfect academic standing, then if we get from a 2.4 - 1.5 you get put on academic probation. If you get between a 1.4 - 1.2 your on academic probation, but have to talk to an acadmic advisor before continuing. If you get from a 1.1 - 0.0 it's automatic academic suspension.

Alot of it has to do with the school I go to, since I go to school in Canada (i'm from the states) and it's one of the best polytechnic schools to go to in Ontario next to humber college.

Bah, our college has the exact same GPA policy, and it's only in the top 20 of the US.

Quite frankly, I'm not worried about it because I do my best and I'm honest with myself.

actually i'm going to school for a trade and as everyone knows, there are few women in this field of study.

I finished school and I didn't have the best GPA while going through it. Changing majors really ended up hurting my GPA at one point because I didn't make up the classes I didn't do well in since they where no longer in my field of study. I am waiting for a call from this company that I hope to work for, if this falls through I will than go job hunting. I currently am working part time at a doctor's clinic doing small things.

Are you really pulling under a three-point in your technical classes or is it stuff like English that's pulling you down?

If you can't even manage a B in math, you may need to re-think your career path.

A 2.9 can actually be a really good GPA depending on the school

My grandma called me yesterday and was like "So I'm assuming you have As in all your classes right?". She doesn't even realize how damn HARD it is to get As sometimes

The engineers here have it rough, they all got 5s on their AP math and science tests and >780 on their math SAT portion, but half will end up with a C or worse

Math and Java are the two classes I despise. I failed both of my math classes and I dropped Java. I'm in Computer Programmer, but i'm going to be changing my program to Business General and then switch after the end of the first year to finance (I suck at math, but every finance class i've taken, i've gotten an A+ in).

Plus I don't pay for my schooling the U.S. Government does.
