Went with my gf to the Randwick race course over the weekend. Didn't get to see the pope, he did the final mass too late at night, but got to witness the crowd and all the attractions. There were 100,000+ people at the race course, with tents, pijamas, sleeping bags playing music, singing, dancing. It was a really joyful experience. What I really liked about this gathering is seeing the unity and people of all races, nationalities and social classes together. The Lebanese, US, French, German, Australian and many other flags were flying together side by side. There was something about this crowd that made me feel hopeful.

So, what did you think? You didn't seem him, pity. But what was your general impression? It obviously wasn't the solemn event that surrounds praying to the kaaba. Most people were conscious of their pilgrimage and came from other countries for the event I think less to see the pope and more to be part of the experience and spread the message of peace.
