Right off the top of my head, I can say that state's rights are cited with regards to abortion and homosexual marriage.
And plus, none of the Americans give a shit about that stuff because they make 350k a year. *lol*
Just like nobody gives a damn about a corruption of power unless it effects them. It's all a big joke, until the laugh is on you.
To be honest, I don't mind the big government so much as I do the "idea" that we're divided into all these little states that are supposed to be able to govern themselves. Though really, all they're allowed to govern is their state tax and speed limits.
"Freedom" is just to make people feel good. If "freedom" isn't free, then it isn't freedom. And hey! It's okay, I'm pretty well-off, I understand my money is being sucked away by all these random taxes to fund things I have nothing to do with. And look, I'm still pretty happy. I'm livin' a comfortable life, but it's no thanks to my free country, it's thanks to my national socialist country.
No modern country can be completely free if they want to excel in the world. There would be too much chaos.
Obama should ask Al Gore to run on his ticket. I doubt he would be keen for another go at VP (actually, I don't know if that's even allowed, is it?) but I really think he's the best potential candidate that the US has at present. He's got a good understanding of both domestic and especially foreign (in particular, Asian) issues.
Obama is smart, but he's got a hell of a lot of getting up to speed to do. I hope he's up to it.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.

Socialist country, LMAO.
Don't expect anything.
Umm, we have all that. Freedom of speech here is about 100%, you can say just about anything short of threatening the president
Well now I know who NOT to vote for
Is a foreigner (yes, Canada makes you a foreigner) going to care about what is in the best interests of another country? No
The biggest problem is the impact foreigners have on the thoughts of Americans. Specifically, that it is cool, intelligent, "good" or whatever to be against America. Luckily the smart Americans know better than this
I think it's silly to say that America is smarter than other countries. Are you shitting me? Don't you know about maglev technology, or any of that other stuff? You'd be pretty surprised. How about the new naval gun that was invented in Sweden, that is designed to project shrapnel?
I think that many foreigners care about what is in the best interest of America, too.

I didn't say Americans are smarter than citizens of foreign countries (even though we do have the smartest individuals, organizations, schools, companies, etc)
I said that foreigners try bending malleable Americans into believing the load of anti-American shit that regularly comes from their mouths. Smart Americans aren't so ignorant
It is good to have an open mind when it comes to politics. 'Anti-Americans' as you call them, do have a lot of criticism that needs to be taken into account. Granted there are always a couple of assholes that just want to bash America, but who are you pointing the finger at? I think everybody that's posted in this thread has a valid point, and I wouldn't call any of them Anti-American.
And oh god. I think the American education system is just horrendous. I disagree that America has the smartest individuals; it doesn't matter where you come from, there are smart people everywhere.
