I think the issue w/academics dating late 20s gals is a lot of them still fall into 'student' territory with all the issues that ensue. At least if you are looking for someone in a profession. Of course that comes w/its own set of problems (try coordinating two newly established careers ), but that's the dating dynamics I've seen for relationships that make it to marriage. It doesn't have to hold true for all cases, of course.
