Maybe his twin brother was actually seeking to steal his identity, and unknowingly your man pretended to have retired to a buddhistic lifestyle in the himalayas while actually kidnapping and replacing his twin, with the rest of the family not noticing, and now he is slowly but surely ending an ongoing dispute over with his father - who was found having an affair with his twin's ex-wife - so that he will be able to claim the inheritance and start a sports bar downtown.
