I relate well to most people. Women in particular I tend to connect well with. I have a good social network and a group of close male friends. But I can be introverted. Social situations expend energy for me, they don't replenish it. So after a while I've had enough, especially if alcohol is not being consumed. I was shy when I was younger, but I've lost a lot of that with age.

My focus depends wildly on what I am doing and can range from total absorption to non-existent. If I am deeply focused on something then no, interruption annoys me. But that would be normal wouldn't it?
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.

Yes, you sound normal. I was just trolling to see if you were a potential high-functioning autistic. Don't be offended by it. Very intelligent, successful, high functioning men can be this. They do have severe problems relating emotionally to ppl tho, and I was just checking. You don't fit the profile, tho, based on what you just posted. You're just a normal guy who hasn't met anyone interesting enough to make you fall. Kind of like Gribble, IMO, he's in the same boat, I think.

Ha! I thought you might be driving at that. No I am not autistic. Highly functioning or otherwise.

You'll regret it. It's not easy to have your heart broken.

Kristen said it made me a very difficult person to go out with. The one before Kristen claimed I didn't have any feelings at all.

I'm not really worried for myself, but I want to be a good husband for somebody one day and in the interim at least a passable boyfriend. And I want to experience that same strength of feeling, too.

I actually don't think it's case of not having "invested" in a relationship. I don't really know what that means anyway. But why do people invest in relationships? Surely they're propelled by a certain depth of feeling? You don't make a decision to "invest" like you would on the stock market.

CB, I don't think you'd ever relinquish control enough to allow someone to hurt you. You're not a belly-up kind of guy.

Good point. It tmight be a question of control. How vulnerable you are willing to be with another person.
    Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame

since you seem to be a lot like my dad, i will say that this is a man who has never recovered from cold-heart status and has never had his heart broken by a woman. again, he's 60. always he has been the heartbreaker. the only women who have that power left are his two daughters.

Good point. I know a lot of people who have had their hearts broken by their children. I guess this is because parents have an even greater investment in them than they do their spouses.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
