North Beach area in SF has some really good Italian food, hence the name, "Little Italy." Also, North Beach is right near Broadway which is where the majority of sex shops and strip joints are. On the other side of North Beach is Chinatown. Remember that SF is so small that right when you leave a significant part of the city, you're already in another one.
The Mission/Excelsior/Bernal Heights/Dolores areas have the best Hispanic food (Mexico, Central/South American). You can pick up just about anything from your basic burrito to pupusas.
The Sunset District has most of the Asian spots covered, including Indian. While the Richmond District (separated from the Sunset by Golden Gate Park) has a lot of Asian food as well as everything else ... Clement Street alone has Russian, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, French, Vietnamese, Thai, Italian, and even Soul Food restaurants....
Japantown ... take one damn guess ... You got it, Korean joints. Hahaha ... the actual Japantown mall has JDM car parts, anime shops, crepe spots, and Japanese restaurants (oddly enough, Benihana is up in there ... try Mifune across the way ... It's better.) ...
Thursday evenings at the Academy of Sciences (6PM - 10PM), they discount entrance fees to $10 and they set up a bunch of bars, so you can get your drink on while getting schooled on rainforest animals.
And downtown has everything at inflated prices. Even the McDonald's is more expensive there.
Once you get here, if you're in the mood for something specific, just hit up "Yelp.com" ... It pretty much rates every restaurant in the city and tells you the price range ...

Shorty would be a great tour guide. I would love to see San Fransisco with him!

Southern California sucks. I prefer Northern California.
i'd rather go back to japan, but everything is closed around new years time... i guess i'll settle for a white town instead. haha.
