Well if you have read any of my posts on my political beliefs you'll know I'm extremely liberal...I was proud to vote for Obama and I think it is awesome that I was the first person in my voting station...the very first vote in Fariview Indiana went to Obama....it was probably the only one...or at least extemly rare...it is a very red state....it doesn't make any sense either because there are so many poor people here.
Best thing I've ever heard was "a poor person voting Republican is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders."

Hahaha. That's hilarious, and more so because I see the truth in it.
...one can be sure of nothing until it has already happened...
Certainly they can but it becomes quite difficult when the tax breaks go to the people making the most money while those shouldering the burden and driving our consumer based economy do not get tax breaks....trickle down economics do not work...giving a lot of money to a few people and expecting them to disperse it makes little sense...they will do what they can to protect their assets and keep them at the same levels whereas spreading the money out over a strong middle class makes far more sense because then you have more people buying more things putting money in the people at the tops pockets so they can hire more people to manufacture more things.
But Republicans love Jesus, hate gay people and let you carry fire arms so hallelujah Charlton Heston...vote red.
Guns!, Gays!, God!...sorry I was practicing my Republican cheer for the upcoming election.

I hate the two party system.
I hate republicans more because from what I've seen in the past decade, they're like walking contradictions.
Lets war and rebuild two countries, while expanding government powers, while cutting taxes.
Yeah, that's real conservative.
Okay well your obviously pulling those numbers out of your ass cause that adds up to 51%...who is covering the other 49 of the tax revenue?
Lets be clear, when I say poor I'm talking people with income of 45k for a family and less...I'm not talkin about people with no income.
Here are some actual figures...Warren Buffet called NBC when he was doing his taxes and realized he payed 17% in income taxes while his secretary paid 36%...now why would a billionaire pay relatively half in his income taxes what a person making less than 100k a year?
Certainly his 17% is equal to more money but who do you think would benefit more from flipping this numbers?...or at least making them closer to equal?...I mean he has billions...like he is really gonna be strugglin to put food on the table with a slightly higher tax percentage....but your right...poor people don't pay taxes...its just about 100 people at the top who carry the rest of us...I mean **** democracy lets just move to an oligarchy.
Now those are real numbers.

They always carry on about Reagen being such a fiscal conservative but at the same time in reality he was one of the biggest deficit spenders in history.
Downside of Reagan legacy - SFGate
Bush did the same thing.
But Democrats are always hounded for being known as big spenders because of social policies...like making sure kids have a meal in school....but Clinton was one of the greatest economic presidents in U.S. history...but he is remembered for a bj...like nobody ever got a ****in bj not from their wife before and then lied about it.
FactCheck.org: During the Clinton administration was the federal budget balanced? Was the federal deficit erased?
Now obviously when I am saying Reagan, Bush, and Clinton I realize they are not the end all be all in terms of responsibility but they are the leaders...as Reagan said while quoting Truman and what he is remembered for "the buck stops here."
They can lie but they can't erase facts.

To begin with I never called you any names...if you want to have an adult conversation since you claim to be so highly educated lets keep this on civil terms.
Now I never said that the wealthiest in our country don't pay the most in terms of quantity in taxes...I said percentage of income was skewed....even though they pay more they pay a lower percentage of their income....here I reposted my statement so you could read over it once again...the only thing I meant by your pulling this numbers outta your ass was...well you were they are not accurate numbers...it was quite obvious you used words like and what obviously showing your were guesstimating...I looked it up your only off by about 10%
My point still remains though...imagine if they raised the percentage on the wealthiest people in our country and lowered it among the middle class. Who do you think will buy more tvs, cars, houses with extra income in their pocket? The top 10% or the other 90%?...putting extra money in the hands of more people allows them to spend more money on things they could not otherwise afford therefore creating demand for goods which follows that there will be more jobs created not just here but around the world. And lets not be naive we live in such a small world now that we have to accept the idea of working towards a healthy global economy and not just look inward....jobs oversees also means that there is a market for exprots of our products...the whole time this is putting more money in the pockets of those at the top as they are making money either from companies owned directly or through their multiple investments in the market....which means the following year when they are taxed at that slightly higher tax rate they will put even more money into the federal coffers....but regardless of how much taxes they pay....they do not carry our economy it is the consumers and taking money out of their pocket is like putting a boxer in t he ring without hands and expecting him to win.
So yes the big money makers in our country pay more in terms of quantity but not in terms of percentages...as I said it makes little sense because truly who is going to be hurting for that money more?
Finally you are not the only person who is going to school or has gone to school and while I realize I was lucky enough to go to a good elementary and high school along with college I also have the luxury of having parents that helped me through college....I realize that not everybody has such luxuries...many schools in the country are not adequate at preparing our youth for college. Then there are also socioeconomic standards that apply...simply put it is hard to climb out of a hole. I have not overlooked this and I am prepared to accept that there will always be a certain portion of the population that will not make as much as me and there will be those that make more but in the end that does not mean that any of us have worked any less...different roads lead different places and as I'm sure you will learn if you have not already sometimes the road ahead is not so clear and plans do not come to fruit.

Funny, I thought this was a thread about Qwerty's avatar....

What I've been talking about the whole time.
And here is an article explaining how the super rich get their taxes down to that level....you are correct it is a progressive bracket...but when there are hidden deductions that drop the percentage it is a deceptive scale.

I will note I pulled this source off a fairly conservative site.
