No, any decent hockey fan knows those hockey meccas. Canada was actually colonized by two of the greatest nations in the world (and Spain had a hand in the early history of the nation but bailed shortly after).
Spain, lol. How far back are you going. The armada? So now you are saying France and england are two of the greatest nations in the world? What about the germans? They almost managed to conquer all. Damn russians. ****ed everything.
Germany sucks, bro. A buncha fat anti-Semites, they are. All they do is start world wars, puss out and drink beer. England and France are the world's culture hubs.
Define 'culture hub'.

lol, most of world history has been dictated by England and France. Having possessed the world's major imperial powers through history, naturally a lot of the effects of those empires are still felt today. Even in modern times, a lot of 'Murricans try to be chic by borrowing or imitating the French and/or English. Hell, the cinema was developed by French men, the Brits dominated early film history and the Brits used to own our pop music charts for a brief time.
The U.S.'s(no offense but North America is just a funny term; we're America and Canada is Canada) political and religious traditions come from the thoughts of the English and French (particularly Locke, Rousseau, Hobbes, Sir Francis Bacon, etc., and as re: religion, the colonial religion was dominated by tenets formed whilst they were still in England_.
'Murrica is simply the redneck, lowbrow version of England. Except we have freedom and guns (and good dental care, and hot chicks AND we don't speak Cockney and act like hooligans a la "A Clockwork Orange")
England was just a bunch of wode face-painters until Caesar showed. Don't get me started on the French.
I need to spend some time in Eastern Urp. Northern Africa also.

Everyone on that list can suck my dick; especially me.
God, how I'd love to be able to do that.
Lol, I now want to get you started on the French. What bad could you possibly have to say about them? (except those Frenchie Canadians in Quebec who make asses of themselves and demand independence)
The fact is, Britain and France are the leaders in fashion, have spawned the greatest of intellects and had actual empires and consequently made true dents on history, while 'Murrica enjoyed a brief turn as world leader after Dubya Dubya Two until...well, that part is debatable. I'd place the decline of the brief 'Murrican empire right around Nixon, when that beautiful image of the country was torn asunder by the revelation that The American Dream was every bit a facade as the idea that this nation was so great as it had led the world to believe.
