Oh, pish! I don't even stick around for the juice and cookies because I am usually in a hurry, and I have never even felt light-headed. It all depends on how hearty you are, and how prone to hypochondria. Just eat some red meat the night before and drink plenty of water. You'll be fine.

Highly doubt it. I know when I was mod you could either delete the post, lock it, move it, or edit it.(but it was shown that it was edited). They also have their own discussion area I believe....just for the mods to Post back and forth. I know GP had that....

From what i remember form bio class , AB+ are the most difficlut to find ...
O+ can only give to O+ and receive from O+, therefore it is needed the most.

I used to donate plasm in college; you could give every 4 days and got paid $7. I gave twice a week, hence beer money

I don't know why but every time I start to give blood I start to get really light headed and naueseous. I don't have a problem with blood or needles, and both times I had eaten a good meal before hand.

The first time I did wasn't too bad.

But the second time I almost passed out.

    Dunno why.

I was thinkin' about givin' blood sometime before September...do you just walk into a hospital and be like "Yo, I wants to give ya sum ma life juice."?

I'm blood type B. Only 9% of the world is blood type B. I feel special.

Did you know, that Blood type O is the Universal Donor, and Blood Type AB is the Universal Recipient?

It's because Type AB doesn't produce any antibodies, and therefore, when another blood type is introduced into the body - no coagulaton can occur (between antibody and antigen).

BTW - Antigens for blood groups are like fingerprints for your blood cells (a marker if you will) We also have the Rh fingerprints. Some people are Rh+, others are Rh-.

If a fetus is Rh+, then the anti Rh antibody may enter the mothers circulation. If the mother has another Rh+ fetus, the antibodies that were passed to the mother from the previous fetus, will destroy the blood cells of the new fetus.

    I think it's called arethroblasto-something - I'm not quite sure!

    You learn something new everyday!
