You liar! Your boyfriend is better looking than a dirty old bird.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Noooo , if you seen those birds !! They are so colourful ! And seeing so many yesterday made me realize that we are actually surrounded by dinosaurs They are so similar !I'm wondering how people didn't get on this idea earlier, that dinosaurs were bird and not reptiles ...

What do you mean by earlier? The idea has been around since 19th century. Ok, the idea was dismissed until 1970's, but these days the theory seems to be quite popular. Or the similar theory that dinosaurs and birds share common ancestor like humans and apes.
I admit that I checked the details from wikipedia... but I at least in my mind the connection was made when I saw Jurassic Park. "That's not very scary. More like a six-foot Turkey."

Yeah exactly , did you watch Jurassic Park? Those dinosaurs there do not look like birds or even something similar ... Anyway, when I was a kid (early 90's) I never even heard a word that dinosaurs could have been birds in contrary to the idea of them being reptiles . The theory of them being the biggest reptiles ever was very common . The first time I've heard something about the connection between them and birds was definitely after 2000 ...

Yeah, I guess the writers weren't up to date with popular palaeontological theories of the time (they did use frog dna as a template thing...) but the way the dinosaurs ran in the film made me think of flightless birds. Perhaps the artists were just "correct" by accident. I remember saying that they're like birds and a relative of mine said that birds actually did evolve from dinosaurs. Maybe that's why I have a different perception of the impression that the movie gives.
I'm not an expert so I don't know how fast exactly the dinosaur-bird llink was popularised (among scientists) after the 70's publication but I'm fairly certain it happened before the 90's. Of course, the popular culture will always lag behind on these things

They are also very.. VERY.. loud when they want to be. I have a green amazon parrot that loves to scream HEY! HEY! HEY! when Im trying to watch tv. Or when Jehovah's knock on the door (and I obviously don't want to answer) he'll answer "hello? Whos there???" And they'll start talking through the damn door! Sounds more cute than it actually is And I can't let him out without watching him closely or he'll start tearing things up like a puppy. Even little parakeets like to have screaming contests.

I loved the cockatoos in Oz. There were so many, I thought they were fields of chickens when I first saw them. My favourites are the rosellas tho--so sassy and striking.

I LOVE cockatoos ! I actually want one. If I ever gonna have one, it will be this. I saw here at a shop for 800 euros so not bad, considering they live very long :p At the zoo I saw few different types... But I think they are slower learners than for example Grey Parrots...
Have you guys watched "Rio" yet ? It's sooo nice I watched it with my nephew a thousand times !

I went to the theatre to watch it with my brother and 3 nephews. The nephews are my sisters kids, not my brothers. I think it was first time in movie theatre for one of the kids

I love going to the cinema, but now I'm either in Germany or Spain and they always play movies with dubbing which I hate . It's possible to watch movies in OV with subtitles but not everywhere and not very often. The only movies I watched here in Spain in OV was Inglorious Bastards and Toy Story 3. I would go to the cinema more often if they played other movies in OV. Did you see already a trailer to Puss in Boots ? I HAVE TO WATCH IT , it's hilarious !

I will look for a cinema in Germany that will play it in OV and I'm definitely going to watch it!

Hmm, surprising that Toy Story would be one to be showed in OV. Kids movies are the only ones that are dubbed at all here. I find the 3D kids movies most annoying since you often don't have a version that's neither 3D nor dubbed. 3D versions cost more and induce head ache without much more immersion.
Puss in Boots seems like worth a visit, maybe with the nephews again. I've just seen some early promos a long time ago, didn't see that trailer until now.
