The company I'm working for decided to ask me to create the attendance software for everyone to use. And since its a small company, I get to maintain both software and data. Starting today, I become the God of Attendance! Waahahahaha!!

Maybe my thinking is too limited (what kind of company is this?), but I would hate to work for a company like this. No offense, NG. Keeping attendance does not improve productivity. There must be better uses of your time?

Its an Italian woodcraft company. Its standard practice to keep a daily time record for employees right? otherwise what would be the basis for your payroll? Actually, I'm creating the entire business software from the ground up. That's because they're using quite a dated one already. The DTR that I'm working on, was a side request since the one that they outsourced (before I was hired) is quite crappy. Its already been a year of testing and the employees are complaining that it constantly has errors, so they decided to have me try to create one.

Its not standard in my industry, but I'm paid on salary. Trades make sense, absolutely. I'm thinking of how our electrician didn't keep very good track of his hours on a large project (I did it, in fact, and sent the record to his boss to compare).

So, whether you work more or less than the standard working hour, you get paid the same? no late penalties or overtime pay?

Yes. That's what a salaried position means, you get paid the same regardless. Considering the hours I put into my work, my hourly wage isn't as good as some might think. But my work is intellectually stimulating and fun, and no 'boss' looking over my shoulder so that's the tradeoff.

Right now I am infatuated with AI. I'm doing some basic programming in Lua. Mainly pathfinding with loops. At first, I hated Lua because it's not very similar to other scripting languages I know. But I'm growing to like it.

Someone called me super early this morning, hidden number, around 6am and left a message. Later on called my voice-mail and this voice said "I woke up because I was dreaming you were kissing me and when I tried to hold you I woke up". Life is soooooo sweet...

I decided to read The Hunger Games because of all the hype about the movie. The book is actually pretty good, but I'm not sure if I'd watch the movie.
