What's most curious to me, Hunter, is that you seem to be putting yourself through the effects of a negative outcome before you've even made any effort to do anything which might cause them. Since you've, apparently, already "been rejected" in your mind, I see nothing further to lose and everything to gain by making an overture. Just go into the shop and tell the truth. Like: "I owe you an apology. I should've come in to say hello when I last saw you, but I was so smitten by the prospect of talking to you, I just didn't know what to do right then. So chickened out. Can we go out for lunch or something so I can make up for that momentary lapse of good manners?"
