Clarification re Buddy (nee Rocky):



Earlier on this or another thread, I related our pet was a Jack Russell/Fox Terrier mix. Well, something Misombra said after that prompted another debate between my son and me, so we did a little more investigating. We've finally settled on the vet's assessment as to the animal's breed:

"Mutant Jack Russell Terrier."

Why? The damn thing's pushing 30 pounds. About half again as much as your standard Jack.

I take great pride in my son. When he goes to the SPCA to get a pet, he doesn't bring home just any old pet. He brings home a friggin' mutant. I can always count on him to do the obscure. Proving, once again, the apple never falls far from the tree. (Incidentally, I'm watching the dog closely to see if he sprouts horns or anything equally off-the-wall. Can never be too careful, you know.)

yeah, they do look mean on the picture. tomorrow i'm going to meet them for the first time, my friend only got them last week. i hope they're not going to have ME for dinner. they're mother and son, my friend named them dorie doreau and sledge hammer. but she always calls them doreau and hammer, which seems to me a bit odd – to call your pet by the last name!?!

well, i had my two cats first. then we got sabby and she was a puppy. a large puppy, but a puppy nonetheless. the cats quickly realized that sabby couldn't hurt a fly and so they became friends. i've had both cats for about 2 or 3 years. alice, your friends' cats are cute! jog, your dog and your cat are cute! hayward- i love your mutant jrt. but only because i don't live with him lol. jk.
