Why do girls play hard to get

I just recently started talking to this girl and when I text her she takes about an hour to reply to the first message then she'll text be back and say something that she knows ill reply to. we'll send 3 or 4 messages then she'll make me wait again is she playing hard to get or just busy? Why do girls play hard to get?

Well, I don't know about this girl, but I personally sometimes just procrastinate..and it doesn't mean that I'm not interested in the person, more like the opposite, thinking what would be the better response and procrastinating : ). When I'm not interested, on the other hand, I, at the beginning, respond pretty soon with short messages like "hi." "I'm good." "ok." and then ignore/stop responding..
