God, so atrocious in the Old Testament, so attractive in the New--the Jekyl and Hyde of sacred romance.

Yeh, when it comes to strategy games PC has no rivals. Total war, Age of ... and empire earth series as well as all of the Westwood / EA Games (Dunes, Command and conquers) have no competition. Also Act of War was awesome
Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame
God or the Devil

Sins is okay, but it's just a dumbed down version of 4X strategy. Pick up Galactic Civilizations II and you'll see what it's really all about.

Sort of. But I think Imperium Galactica was a bit simplified, too.
Ever play Civ IV? Gal Civ II is similar but obviously set in space. Ships can be infinitely customized which is loads of fun. You can develop slow moving defensive ships, long-range patrol vessels, missile boats, etc. and you can fully customize their appearances if you're artistic enough.

Ever play Sid Meier's: Alpha Centauri?
I absolutely loved that game.
Civ III trumped all, however, with the amount of diplomatic choices you had, open or closed borders, treaties for war and trade. It was more than just "give me this tech or I'll kill you!".
Alpha Centauri rocked. Right now I'm playing Europa Universalis: Rome. Major emphasis on treaties and the like. You can't even declare war without seriously damaging your country's stability and risking revolt if you don't have a cause.

Right now I'm playing Medieval 2. It's an awesome game. The only thing I dislike about it is the artillery in the tactical combat. If you are of equal or greater strength than your enemy then they never attack you and just stand in defensive formations. With just two trebuchets I can pound away two thirds of their men without loosing any while they stand there looking at me. Talk about realistic. It makes battles way too easy.

Its nothing like 4x, I have both. 4x is less action packed. I just wish Sins had more of a story line, more single player to it. Not just Skirmish. The diplomacy could be better also. The action is immense though, I can' handle pure strategy...I need more real time strategy to it..some eye candy battles keep me interested.
Never the less it is all till the king comes out, Star craft 2...can't wait.
"Why are you an atheist?"
"because I paid attention in science class."
Speaking of video games, I saw Video Games live last Sat. Amazing concert.
"Well, then," the Cat went on, "you see a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad."
God blessed..
Probably asking you to get a Nintendo WII now.
