This thread was interesting but now it sucks.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.

I always found the difference between long term memory and short term memory very interesting.

Do you think that plays a role in weight?

I don't think memory has any weigh.I think brain it's the part of human body that we will need many many years more to find out what's it all about. The same question was in the movie '21 gramms', but they were thinking about the weigh of human soul.Kind of the same issue . Nice movie tho.

I think it's a lot like a computer... empty space... like zeros and ones needing to be shifted and arranged. If Einstein was right with E=mc^2, I think that thoughts, and memory thereto *are* energy. The brain is the weight; the muscle. Everything else is the input/output.

If it did have a weight, it wouldn't be very much... I think I heard once before during a lecture, that the brain only uses approximately 2 % of its mass for memory.

Ironically, more memory, hence more energy, means a lighter brain

    Yeah I heard that too.

But an even more philosophical question:

Does it really matter if memory has weight?

Ladies, ladies. Let's be civil. Kiss and make up. Don't be stingy with the tongue, either.

Hey, hey, I'm not a diet freak who's trying to lose weight!

I was merely interested in what others thought of the question - and it has been interesting to hear all about the brain - i'm not saying if it matters that it has weight or not either - i just wanted to know what others thought. Simple as.

And it makes you willingly unaware, you become a person who is outside looking in and not the one interacting with your environment.

I'm still not sure I follow. What sort of "repeated tasks" are you talking about?

    I'm a bit dense today...
