I have been talking about Warren Buffet from the very beginning...this is not something I sprang on you just now....is he not within the top 1%?...and is there not a problem with him paying only 17% in income taxes?...even he said there was a problem with it.

And honestly I would be ashamed to complain about paying 45% in taxes while making 400,000.00 a year and there are babies right now with nothing to eat.

So I suppose in your logic you shouldn't pay that 45% tax rate...then who should?

    $800

Guess where my parents are living when they retire? Not New York State! They will move from this Democratic tax you to death hellhole to a Republican state where they won't go broke simply by living on a piece of land
Certainly there is a cost of living difference no matter where you go...go out to Cali and try to buy some land...its expensive as hell...here it is fairly reasonable but thats because this is an impoverished area. Your grandparents live in Evansville?...ask them how the industry is doing there.

How much land are we talking just out of curiosity because I'm sittin on about 11 acres with 3 out buildings, a pond plus the house....I certainly don't pay 10,000.00 either...but the people down the road live in a trailer on less than an acre...its hit or miss....we also bought the property when it needed a lot of work and got an amazing deal on it.

Something got jacked up when I tried to use your quotes for some reason and I couldn't get it fixed so your originals are now in red and my rebuttal follows in black for the first 2.

You were giving the usual rhetoric about wealthy people not paying any taxes. This conversation wasn't about Warren Buffet, he was an example you gave Umm, I guess I'll say it again. The super rich like Warren Buffet who make shitloads of cash from investments will have these deducations available and can hire lawyers who know loopholes in the law, but most of the wealthy people aren't that rich and do pay the absurd taxes

Look back on my second post from when we started our discussion...I brought up Warren Buffet immediately and continued to...thats who I was talking about the whole time.

Give me a break. Not in this country. Anyone can go to the local soup kitchen or church and get free food if they need it

And of course you would be ashamed about compaining because you were paying 45% in taxes. You haven't put in 11 years of hard, hard work and sacrifice while being broke the entire time to reach that salary

Once again your not in Indiana did you know the soup kitchens food pantries around here and many other places are out of food....donations are way down. I volunteer at a local one called Harvest Soup Kitchen and there has been periods of weeks they have had to close....and you know the saddest things I have ever seen there are the children. I mean when they walk through the line I just want to pick them up and take them home...they can't help what positions there families are at in life....surely you have enough feeling to be empathetic with those babies.

Oh and while we are getting to know each other I have 5 years of college. 2 bachelor degrees one in ancient history and one in classic cultures. I have another 2-3 years to go as I will be going to law school....and as of now I owe 60,000.00 in student loans....so no I am basically in your shoes...and I would feel ashamed to look those kids in the eyes and say I'm sorry I don't want to pay higher taxes and make sure you get one free meal in school and I don't want to provide you with free health care...I know it isn't your fault your parents are where they are for whatever reason be it poor decisions or falling on hard times...I just can't help you out...I want to pay lower taxes.

Nobody should. The government needs to shrink. If you want to live in a socialist country move to Sweden or western Europe
Where would you prefer to cut the budget?...there is wasteful spending but at the same time even if that was done away with it wouldn't really make that huge of a dint. There is always military and defense spending we could cut but we are in the middle of 2 wars...we are getting ready to draw down in Iraq though. Then there are social policies....many of them are pushed to the max right now with all the people depending on them. If anything the government needs to spend money putting people to work maintaining our infrastructure both roads and utilities. The way I see it, your already paying them unemployment...you may as well give them a task and just call them employees.

Either way, my only working age relative in Evansville is my uncle who is an engineer. You know, someone who works for his money. He is doing great
My meaning was the reason why the cost of living is low in Evansville as it is in much of Indiana because much of the industrial jobs that used to drive the local economy in Evansville is gone...not everybody is going to be engineers....not everybody is going to go to college...its not for everybody...somebody has to collect our garbage.
