    Its not hard, but it is more time consuming than running a Mac. Or at least it was. We used to run Redhat on a partitioned PC but finding software and sharing files was enough of a pain to make us switch. Mac wasn't much better, mind, until about 10 years ago but it did let you do things that the more crash-prone PCs didn't. My Quadra was great, and faster than most PCs at the time.
    Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.

    Linux 10 years ago was not usable for a normal user, it's that simple.. things have changed a lot since then.
