yo tranquila. that was my opinion on the matter. i'm not being defensive i have nothing to be defensive toward. i haven't had sex with very many people but even if i did would you think that i was undeserving of love and affection from another person? would you really think of me differently if you knew how many people i'd slept with? why does it make me any different from you or anyone you know?

your standard is what you make it. the issue isn't in the person who you're looking at and basically judging it's in you. if you can't like people for whatever they did and whatever their experiences are why do you have to group them together into whores or sluts? do you think others judge you the same way for the sake of their own standards? probably. if you don't like people who've had sex with a lot of people then don't be with them or hang out with them, leave them alone. coming in here and preaching about how bad they and the men that choose them are doesn't accomplish s.hit. this isn't even an argument, it's people asserting their views on other people. nobody's really discussed anything. nobody's answered nomas's questions, which are pretty valid questions. nobody has really said anything.

I try to be careful about choosing my wording so that I create the most efficient argument that is not misleading or potentially putting words in people's mouths, but sometimes it's inevitable. We'll twist and exaggerate scenarios to prove points. Case in point..the original question was "number of sex partners" and now we're all focusing on "a girl getting ****ed and jizzed on by 100 men".

I don't think lady86 is necessarily imparting judgement either, sombra. She's giving her opinion and while she uses mainstream idealism such as "a woman having sex with 100 men blah blah blah is a slut/whore", we shouldn't take it as an attack on us liberals. Both sidese are often times defensive because they are often times offensive. They acuse each other of being labeled as a moral-less decadent or as an up-tight extremist. They acuse each other of acusing each.

I think we can have good discussions if we all keep our heads. And I LIKE these discussions..these are the threads I like to participate in and I cast a vote toward not closing them. I see the opportunity to teach something or maybe even learn something...(but most likely teach..heh, heh..)

anyway, i remember thinking when i was younger that people should only have sex with one person, their husband or their wife. then i started thinking well some people have 2 sometimes 3 spouses in their lifetime so why the hell does it matter if you have sex with more than one person. then i began thinking that people could have sex only if they're in a relationship with somebody. but then i saw that some relationships last years and some last days or weeks. then i started thinking that people could have sex with whoever they wanted, it was entirely up to them i don't care, as long as they're not passing diseases around, which unfortunately is what is happening. but my "number" has evolved over time.

i have two friends... one is what very promiscuous with a very intense alcohol dependency. her number is up there and you guys would easily call her a slut. many people have. the girl has an illness, what can i say.

i have another friend who is in her late 30's who when in her 20's lived the party life in chicago and slept with something along the lines of fifty guys. she stopped being promiscuous and married a guy who acquired an addiction to pornography that stopped having sex with her entirely which eventually led to their divorce. karma maybe? now she's with a guy who, upon hearing her 'magic number' was devasted and awefully confused. but he saw her for the person she is now. if you met her you wouldn't believe for one minute that she was this kind of person. she's probably the most straight laced individual one could know and very easy to love.

uhhh....ok...why the hell would anyone worry about someones past if they dont care to get romantically involved with them?..they don't. I thought we are all just assuming right away that the person you are calling a slut is a potential date you would like. I could care less what someone did that I really do not care about.
