cybog told them off pretty bad...oh well it was fun while it lasted! and hey lloyd if you wanted to discuss your opinions i think you shoulda started a thread about that instead of complaining like you did in this one...just a suggestion though.

Yeah......I remember the good old days of being a moderator. Not as fun as it sounds.... Lloyd quoted that mods are financially gainful.... I never got paid!
I actually had more fun as a regular poster then having partial control over the board.(at GP). There always ended up being alot of conflict over whether the mods were being unfair etc. I wasn't the only mod either....there were like 4 other ones. It really sucked at times......
But if there is straight out insulting....its the job of the mod to control it(especially if there is a complaint). IF you have no control.....then it becomes one bashing session after another. If you don't stop one thing.....and yet stop another......you get accused of favortism. Its not as easy as it seems....so cut the mods some slack.

Then you would get the regular whiners....that would email the mods on a regular basis saying "they disagreed with me"...... It got to the point where you had to tell the whiners to leave if you can't deal with a disagreement. (IM not accusing you of this lilwing or Lloyd, just an example)

So yeah there is a difference between disagreeing with someone and straight out bashing them. If a thread turns into a bash fest... Its the mods job to take out the trash..and honestly they are alot nicer here then how some of them were on GP. I've noticed that They give u many chances before banning you.... very generous.....so appreciate it! Some of the mods I worked with were ban crazy....

Keep in mind that people come here for advice. They come here to actually seek advice.....and a little humor thrown in is always good too.....from some of the regulars.... And sure it gets off the topic sometimes.....but its still fun as long as we aren't all insulting each other NON-STOP.

Freedom of speech is a good thing.......and i can tell its definately allowed here......but straight out bashing is not... So deal with it. It could be alot worse......

If you have a problem with sexuality....thats your opinion....but its one thing to disagree over it....and another to straight out bash someone for their sexual preference and then argue back and forth about it....

Here's the bottom line. Loveadmin is in charge of this forum. If he wants his moderators to go about their jobs in a certain fashion, that's his choice. A completely free forum would be a useless forum. You apparently don't realize how many advertising accounts we have to eliminate. Why do we eliminate them? This is a love forum, a forum designed specifically for relationship discussion and advice. People advertising Ipods and Russian mail order brides are not what we're here to serve. This is an open discussion of ideas, not products. The suggestion of an age segregated forum is irrelevant as well. The forum is for relationship advice and discussion. A 35 year old may very well have some amazing insight for a 16 year old in their first relationship. The opposite is also very true.

At the end of the day we were chosen to do a job. We will continue to do that job as Loveadmin requests. If there are serious issues regarding the way we do things, feel free to come to us with it, but don't expect to change the day to day operation of quite a successful forum. I've personally seen enough mod bashing threads based around banning. It's there, it happens, let's get over it.

I actually agree with every word you said. I hate those adverts that people put up! I hate when people expect free advertising!
