On a serious note; there was looting after the tsunami, not as widespread as in New Orleans and it didn't last for long. As for 911, there wasn't much opportunity for looting afterwards. 911 was bad, but limited to the towers. For looters to have a good opportunity, you need the power out everywhere, law enforcement disrupted and so on. If New York is ever hit by a cat 4 or 5 hurricane, then you would see a lot of looting there.

I don't want to own a gun, because I don't want to find out if I'd be able to use it.

I could possibly loot for food if I had starving children (not for myself), but only if I had exhausted ALL POSSIBLE alternatives. It would have to be sheer desperation.

You cannot compare the 2 situations AT ALL. Like was said, we're talking about an entire city out of commission vs 2 buildings collapsing.

They were going to impeach Clinton for sleeping with someone, which affected what, 2 or 3 people at most.. and here God knows how many thousands of people died unnecessarily because Bush was so slow to respond. I hope we don't have to watch him screw up our country for another 3 years and they impeach his ass.
