Another problem with IQ scores is that historically, women have been denied access to education, and therefore were not deemed important enough to be measured by an IQ test. Additionally, since the test was created by a male, one would have to assume it comes with some limited amount of gender bias.

Listen, I'm not tryin to argue that the tests you researched results are wrong or biased... I was saying the direction this thread was going in (who's smarter: men or women) was stupid to argue about. Again, just because you're a man doesn't mean you're automatically going to be smarter than a woman and vice versa. I don't care what results of some study were.

I could also say I took a survey and 75% of Americans claim that blowing bubbles in the air is a method of interstellar travel. Forget the fact those surveyed were mental hospital patients...

MY OPINION is that it's all based on the individual, their education, upbringing, all that jazz... and intelligence has absolutely nothing to do with gender. That will remain my opinion - regardless of what the internet has told you, cause we all know if it's posted on the internet, it's fact!

Did you bother to look at my example? I never said men are smarter than women or vice versa. You seem to have that notion stuck in your head. The avg IQ of both sexes are roughly equal. However, men's IQ is represented more heavily at both extremes while women's intelligence is clustered around the mean of distribution. In layman's terms, there are more dumb men and more smart men than women. You can disagree all you want with the results. It doesn't change the truth.

There is also a strong correlation between gender and specific intelligence. Men tend to perform better in spatial and quantitative abilites like mathematics and science. Women tend to perform better in verbal abilities like reading comprehension, writing, and learning foreign languages. A study done earlier this year by the University of California, Irvine compared the relative sizes of brain regions in both sexes. Men showed more gray matter and less white matter than women. Gray matter is used for tasks requiring local processing like mathematics, and white matter is used for integrating and assimilating information required for language facility.

I agree that arguing who is smarter is a waste of time. That is why I have chosen to stay out of that discussion. I noticed some people were saying men are dumber in this thread (amazing I get labeled a misogynist but they don't).
