OK since you are trying to draw a comparison between Iraq being occupied by American forces and America being occupied by some other forces, let me give a more accurate description and you tell me where I go wrong

1) The US goes from being a democratic nation to occupied, whereas Iraq goes from being a dictatorship to occupied

2) (The main point) This country that invades the US builds us schools, hospitals, roads, tries updating infrastructure at the expense of their own citizens, etc, and some dickheads in MY country try to stop them. These occupying forces also want to leave as soon as they get the chance, and to get them to leave, all we have to do is stop trying to kill them! Wow, imagine that! If the goal was to get them to leave, shooting them isn't gonna do it, but NOT shooting them WILL do it!

In the end, I was not fighting for Bush, the United States, mom, apple pie or anything else. I kept doing tours there to be with my men and my friends. I just couldn't bring myself to leave them there.

Okay, now that borders on offensive. Just because other people on here don't agree with you, doesn't mean they possess less logic than you, nor are they living in a dream world.

You and DM have a one sided view of the situation being in the military or from a military family. You're going to defend the situation to the death just because you are a part of it. That's fine. But it doesn't make you any more correct.

DM will probably never understand what it means to a nation to be occupied. Even more, Iraq is a totally different culture than America, they are different people, you have to respect that also. America is totally unknown culture to them, and ofcourse they are scared, they don't want to lose their traditions. With Hussein, they had these and thats what gives people the sence of freedom. Did you actually know, that in many islamic cultures, people actually believe that in the west, both america and europe, life is like in porn movies where all kinds of sex is the main activity. They have their misconceptions about the west as we western people have misconceptions about them, the islamic people. And people tend to notice bad things when they live in unknown.
Most of the Iraq militarists are probably brainwashed as you are, I see no difference. It doesn't mean who kills more and who holds his fire back. If you'd have given an order to kill more, you would do it? And since I doubt you are the one giving any orders, you are no better then Iraq low class soldier. The only difference there is, and that makes all there is, is that they are fighting on their own homeland, they have their families there, they are more personal. Every person gets more agressive as things get personal, like what happened to you after my dumb post.
My post was dumb, I am sorry, didn't mean no actual harm to anybody with that, but I believe it was also a neccecity for this thread to clarify more views connected to this topic.
