hah! I bet he sleeps with one eye open!

I don't know why, but your post reminded me of Salma Hayak in that weird movie with George Clooney and Quention Tarantino... I can't remember what it was called...

Interesting. Where is hope for the USA? Have we given up for the man before he has even started? Give him a chance. There's a first everything. He already knows that people are ready to jump on him. He can handle it. Have hope for him and do your part to help the US. Change starts from within.

well if i was an American citizen i wouldn't be too happy with the fact he is intending to appoint a man who is extremely high up in the federal reserve private bank to be in charge of the treasury----conflict....not that ther isn't one anyway with the fact the fed is private.......

Hello? I live in California. We just voted in Prop 8. We have had 8 years of a president who most consider disasterous. I have very little hope for the USA right now.

When the country becomes f***ed up beyond repair, we can always move . Always have hope. It can only get better or else people would leave just like in the past when we came to America.

Lesa, I am not saying he will **** up, but we all make mistakes one way or the other. One slip up from Obama, like a bad call on something or whatever, and you'd hear about it like crazy. As for him dying, I mean it's already being plotted to have the man killed. Do you really think this man will live throughout his full term as a president? Call me a pessimist but seriously. Some people just cant deal with having a black man run the country they live in. I honestly wish him the best, but after how McCain's supporters acted at his last speech I dont think Obama will get the respect he deserves. He definitely deserves a chance, but him getting what he deserves will happen when I'm no longer a huge coca cola fan, and I definitely do not see that happening in this lifetime. The U.S. is already ****ed up....look at the current president for Christ's sake?! All I can do is hope Obama makes the change he says he will make and hope for a better future, but that is just my hopes. In reality, I'm expecting a dead president, honestly.

Everything else aside, after having had a look around I found another reason why Obama's election was significant. Which other country with a white majority population has or will most likely in a near future elect a black person (or at least some other representative of a minority outside of white) in the highest position of power? Not Britain, not Germany, nowhere else is Europe (that I know of) not Canada, not Australia. When you think about it this way, how likely it is this could have happened in any other white dominated country you see another dimension why this is a historic moment and how this sets an example for others to follow. It's very inspiring.

    I wasn't born yet

Though I'm sure it was a historic moment as well (if anything she was the inspiration for Iron Maiden and that's perfect)

    God, I'm old.

Yes, Maggie was impressive. Pretty sure she chewed rocks for breakfast & could give Hillary tips on being a bitch. Prob does.

For DM: might be interested to know she was trained as a chemist.

See, now here's a telling statement. What does your being black have to do with it? Are you saying that if Obama & McCain switched ability & intellect that you still wouldn't have voted for him?
