I personally think that it should matter to his career because by becoming a successful artist with lots of fans who look up to him he became a role model for a particular way of life. People model his behaviour, they want to be and act like him. The moment he starts to advertise something as disturbing as woman beating is the moment people should stop and have a serious thought on whether he should continue being a role model. I don't think there is anything wrong for people to vote with their money on whether he should continue being popular. If he is not happy with that, perhaps he should look for a career change to something which doesn't require role modeling, like plumbing. Actually I think more people should vote with their money to discourage other artists advertising disturbing life styles.
Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame
God or the Devil
