I don't think the question is "would you accept it" but rather "would you split your family up over it". I wouldn't for a short term fling, but I would for a full-blown love affair.Originally Posted by Debunkt

thats a rather poor statement at face value you most can say no.
do drugs? no or yes? 2 outcomes, but an accident there are thousands of variables that influence what happens as opposed to do 2 variables.
Your right i would be offended if my SO cheated on me, but i would also understand in the same way she showed me. She showed me what love means more than anyone else i ever know.
and im happy for all i am and all she is.

Using the analogy of an accident doesn't make sense to me because accidents happen and most of the time you can't prevent it from happening because it can be someone else's fault that it happened in the first place. So your saying, that cheating on someone just happens and there's no way to prevent it? and that you could blame it on someone else?
You have the option to say No when confronted with this type of situation. you can't blame alcohol because you can still know what your doing. Alcohol may induce what you normally wouldn't do sober but you still have the option to say NO.

^for serious.
Accidents indicate the inability to be foreseen, prevented, fixed. Does anyone end up in someone else's bed and say "Oh my god! What happened!?!? What an accident! Some mysterious force brought me here, and forced me to cheat! I had no control, nor did I ever see it coming! Well... not my fault." I call bullshit. If a girl is seducing you, YOU KNOW. If you're getting drunk around girls, YOU KNOW. If you feel attracted to someone else, YOU KNOW. If you're going to cheat, YOU KNOW. Its not just some thing that happens in a split second with no warning. There are events, decisions, and circumstances that lead up to cheating. If you don't recognize them or prevent them, its YOUR fault. I'm not going to forgive my SO for not thinking about me, for betraying my trust, and not having the guts to break up with me. If she wants something that I don't have, fine. She just won't get what I do have.
I'm drowning in assholes.
In affairs of the heart, there ARE no accidents. Just lapses of better judgment.

Whew!! I was starting to think I was the only one that thought like that!
