Perhaps your parents know more. Probably, as that is their field, I would expect it. Just like I surely know as many scientists (likely more). Of course, having spent some time at the #1 university in the world (for engineering), I'm prepared to be wrong about this:

btw an amusing anecdote... a family friend (from Buffalo) who just graduated from here got accepted at MIT, Stanford, and Northwestern for his grad program in engineering... he picked Northwestern because they had a better program for materials engineering apparently... hmm
