okay. let's look at one verb... ummmmmmm... intender...
intender -to understand
yo intiendo
tu intiendes
el intiende
ellos intienden
nosotros intendemos
now you want to say "i understand you." well we know that "i understand" is yo intiendo. but you don't want to just say i understand, you want to say i understand YOU.
then you would put the word "te" in front of it.
yo TE intiendo.
now how would you say, i need you?
i'll give you a hint:

okay we know that te in front of a verb means they're doing that to you.
te explico (i explain to you)
now say we want to do something to me. then you would put me in front of it.
me necesitan= they need me
me explicas= you explain to me

bueno. que es una palabra que functiona en muchas maneras.
(it's a word that has a lot of functions)
in that song he says no me digas que... in that sense it is used as "that."
don't tell me that...
you can also say lo que, which means "that which." it's used in spanish more often than it's used in english i think. in english people just say "what."
in that song te amo te amo te amo she says "sentir tu calor es LO QUE mas quiero." they're saying to feel your heat is what i want most.
mana uses it that way in "tu tienes LO QUE quiero." = you have what i want.
now some things don't translate well between english and spanish. but literally it means you have "it that" i want. but it's best to think of it as that which.
lo que- that which.
que- what
que-that
but it's not "that" as in eso or esto. you would use eso as in "that right here." or esto as "that over there"
eso- that right here
esto- that over there
que- that which...
es complicado si no comprendas no te preocupes que esta bueno.
