    Valentine's Dilemma

Was gonna ask this in the general section, but female opinions might be better. We've been together roughly 7 months, I'm just really really really bad at this sort of thing -its been causing me a ridiculous amount of anxiety. She has fancy tastes, and I earn a decent income so I'm not overly concerned with how much I'm going to spend. I'm just not sure what type of gift is appropriate, I'm hesitant to go with jewelry since thats very taste specific, and I'll probably get the flowers even though thats totally cliche and generic, but just wondering if anybody has some other suggestions. BTW I'm like this with all types of gift giving, with my family they usually just tell me what they want and I'm more than happy to get it, I just really don't know how to pick out stuff for people not sure why. Also Valentine's Day always scares me, I guess the marketing surrounding it is a bit intimidating I'm afraid to make a mistake/disappoint my girl.

Awww, I'd be happy with just dinner!

But how about chocolate or perfume? You could try and get creative and take her on a balloon ride or something.

do something nice as opposed to buying something nice. supplement the activity with one flower (her favorite one). oh and a card. simple and very special.

If You decide to buy parfumes I highly recommend J'adore by Dior. I think it's hard to find a woman that wouldn't like that Also Nina Ricci has some nice fragrances, Calvin Klein 'Euphoria' is nice. Miss Dior Cherie is very nice.Hmmm actually Versace Versense is good too. Avoid buying fragrances that have very specific smell, not everyone likes it. Those tips I gave You are soft and sweet and they shouldn't be a bad choice
    I wazzzz here

I agree with Sonrisa. Do something you BOTH will enjoy. Something like a spa and fun dinner. Flowers die. Yeah they're pretty but so run of the mill for Valentine's Day. Couples massage is sexy. Does she like any sports team in particular? Any of her favorite bands coming to your city soon? Dinner theaters can be fun. Maybe sign up for like salsa dancing lessons? My roommate did that for his gf for Christamas, they both love it.

I hope I get a gift pack of my favorite wines from this winery I love. Or that I get to go on a tour of it soon. I hope thats what I get. Something I'll actually enjoy rather than standard old flowers. Sweet but boring. I always like to put in lots of thought and make a gift personalized. I like it when people can do the same for me.

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
    blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
