family love and men exerting control.

    aside from gf bf reltaionships..

i don't like my parents' relationship. they've been married for the past 2+ decades and really hate each others guts. odd wouldn't you say? well i do. i find it so freaking weird.

it's not an abusive relationship or anything.. it just lacks love!! and so much of it. i think that's why i love my SO so much because we are the complete opposite to both our parents'.

should men exert control in a relationship?

No one should ever exert control over the other in a relationship.
Be true to yourself, this includes taking a step back and realizing that the best thing isnt always the easiest thing in front of you.

The reason you love your S.O. so much is because you haven't been with them for 2+ decades. Do you think your parents were always this way?

Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

That is what people do after they have been in a relationship for so many years. They bicker and annoy each other.

Lesson learned: Choose well, and don't get married right away.

And no, I don't think it's a good idea for men to exert total control, or women either, which happens sometimes too. Both parties should be able to walk away from the relationship if they want to. They should be capable of functioning in the world without one another.

I can't even imagine how much I would eventually come to hate someone who had complete control over my life. I'd want to murder him in his sleep.
