So I've been single for a year or so and I'm still in school. I met this girl who I was really attracted to so we became friends. Over the year I've known her, she's dated a few guys while we became closer. Sometimes when we're together we'd cuddle and cupcake a little. So when the school year ends and summer begins, we are really close and the only reason I haven't asked her out yet is because I've wanted to examine my other options. After a few weeks in social isolation, summer stuff, I come to realize how much I care for her and how much she means to me. Unfortunately, in my absence, she has found another man, and I am terribly heartbroken. Any advice?

If you respect someone, don't hold them in abeyance. You treated her like a backup and she moved on. No one wants to be someone's last resort. Learn from this.
