i'm back, changing uni, needing advice

That depends. Going to a university in which you will know no one will foce you to grow. Some people aren't really interested in growth because they value the "safety in numbers" bit more.

but the thing is my SO encouraged me so much to change my course because he knew i was getting no satisfacction from this current one. we both assumed i'd stay at this uni.

Ahh, nice degree! You are a smart girl. Honestly, if you were my kid, I would encourage you to go to the "better" school. That degree is one that will actually get you a job one day, and the school you go to may give you an edge in the job market.

I agree. Go to the new uni. There may be things that bothered you at your current school that weren't even related to your course, and those won't change.

well this is all just in case i don't get into my first choice (i wana b prepared for on the day).

i think he would freak out but he wouldn't rant and rave in my face kind-of-thing.

it would feel odd going to a new place, on my own, a year behind everyone else.
