How long does this feeling last?

I recently broke up with my gf (just over a month ago) It was my first ever relationship so i'd never felt the feelings I had towards her and obviously I'd never been through a break-up, I felt awful!

I'm starting to get over her now but, sometimes I feel up and down. I don't mean just up one day and down the next, I mean through the day it's really weird!! Yesterday I felt fine and today for some reason I started the day feeling ok then really down, then a few hours later I felt good again and still do!

Just wondering if anyone else is/has gone through this and how long does it last?

Does it just go when you meet someone else or what?
