Can you turn gay?

From a biological standpoint is it possible to switch your sexual orientation mid-life? I have a crush on a certain female, and I'm unsure why, but this crush has forced me (not purposely) to question everything about me. It's very weird. So the other morning I woke up and I realized I've not made out with a girl for a very long time, and in the midst of my total uncertainty I came to the conclusion that homosexuality is the answer. I know that seems like a far cry from reality but I'm just oh so confused. But I know I was strongly attracted to girls as recently as a week ago, so as long as you can't change, I'm ok, but can you?

To answer your question, in MY opinion, sure you can "turn" gay, it's 100% psychological and 0% biological. I don't think it's just an "on/off" switch you can flip whenever you want, but if the conditions are right with certain elements in your life to affect your phsyche, it could happen.

Human sexuality is a range, with most people falling more to one side or the other, and some falling somewhere in between. This, to my knowledge, is the most up-to-date ideas about homosexuality. If you are closer to the center than most people, then I guess you can easily choose to make the switch without it feeling too unnatural.

I disagree with Tone that there is no biological basis to human sexuality, although it is certainly possible that one might choose to disregard their sexual preference in favor of what is culturally acceptable.

I agree with clynn. Unless you want to turn gay, then I don't agree. However, if you're a girl, then I don't agree with my last sentence and agree with clynn, because quite honestly, that's hot. If you're a guy, however, revert back to my original stance of disagreeing with clynn. that is all.
