I need help choosing between fiance and ex-hubby

It's been a year since I divorced the ex. He was a heavy, heavy drinker...passed out almost every night. We have a pre-teen daughter. Life is pretty hard right now, bills, economy..etc.
I'm very happy with my fiance, I feel loved and secure in the relationship.
But he's jobless and it makes it even harder bill wise.
I'm very conflicted, do I go back to the ex in hopes that he can bring in better income and keep us financially stable(he was unemployed for almost a year recently, but seems to be working on and off now).
Or do I stay happy with my fiance and hope for him to get a job and finances will get better?

The ex says he drinks less, he seems to have changed somewhat. But I can't be sure. I left because I wanted to have a better life for my daughter & I, couldn't live with an alcoholic that was never really present.

I miss our family, but I don't miss him as much as I would miss my fiance.

I'm a mess trying to figure out the best thing to do.

My daughter has told me she loves that I'm so much happier now...but I know she misses her father too.

Can I keep them both and blend them to make the perfect hubby/father...lol

Doesn't sound like much of a contest. One's unemployed, the other is semi-employed deadbeat, alcoholic. Stick with your fiance, as long as he's actively seeking a job. What line of work is he in? Can he not get something part time to hold him over?

You already have your answer. It comes across in what you said about how much you would miss your fiance. And your daughter is on board with the new relationship too, so that is good.

The reasons for you splitting with your ex haven't changed. An alcoholic can't drink less. They either don't drink at all or they drink to excess.

If your fiance is out of work now, maybe delay any wedding plans for just a while until he is able to get back on his feet. But I wouldn't drop him for your ex. In fact, even if you dropped him for other reasons, I wouldn't return to the ex. Keep looking forward, not backwards.

    Good luck.
