Sad, and scary. My nephew is being deployed to Iraq in September. He's a Marine.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
yup worried, they have told the hawaii soldiers that they leave around sept too.

how many more will have to die before mr. bush is happy?
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.
Whats with 4000? Those Iraqees should kill more americans. How much have THEY lost?
Don't expect anything.
I believe most of the Iraqis dying at this point are doing so because of other Iraqis.

So, are they guilty? If americans stop now, would there be peace?
America stated that their main goal is to eliminate Hussains unhuman dictatorship, now, Hussein is dead and they can leave...
I don't cry over some paid soldiers, it was their decision to take the risk, its just some statistics that serves for politics. Ofcourse every human loss is a misery to someone, I know and understand the feeling of that, been there, but, its far away and there are millions of other people dieing, so this doesn't give me any warm feelings really.... be honest. They died killing another men.

Maybe you don't keep up with politics, but the Americans are what is preventing a full-blown civil war. Hussein's brutal dictatorship was the ony thing preventing it before, which is the reason I didn't support the idea of going in there in the first place. So are they (the Iraqis) at fault? You tell me.
And no - dancer, he is not American. Neither are bluesummer, indi, or mish (who I expect will make an appearance on this thread any moment).

I'm inclined to agree w/ppl like Gwynne Dyer who say the pull out should have already happened. Its less about making things better than preventing it from getting still worse. And it can certainly get much worse.
I'd recommend Dyer's excellent book 'The Mess They Made' if you are interested, its a good read.

Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.
